Just to let you know what the numbers are for this year so far.

* 2005 is a/o Oct 11.  I'm guessing at most 10 more will register in the next 
couple days.  Maybe less.

One can speculate as to the causes.  We all should think about it carefully, 
drawing on both our own experiences and asking others.  We should discuss this 
creatively at the wrapup meeting.

Meanwhile, to the extent we can and that it is appropriate, we need to scale 
our purchases with these numbers in mind.
