I was recently talking with a woman who coordinates dances in the east part of NC and she mentioned a band that had just come through her area. She said that they were a recent blend of folks from several bands. They were reported to be enthusiastic, filled with energy, respectful of the dancers and etc. Just thought I'd share this information with everyone so that we can keep an ear out for more information.

Le Vent du Nord (the north wind)

Le Vent du Nord is a newly evolved Quebecois band that freshly interprets the music and dance of Quebec and Brittany. The quartet is made up of members from several well-known French Canadian groups including: Matapat, La Bottine Souriante, Moncorbier and Ad Vielle Que Pourra. Each show is overflowing with positive energy as members sing, dance and play a variety of instruments including the accordion, mandolin, bones, spoons, hurdy-gurdy, piano, violin, and guitar
