7:30-8:50 Waltz Practice--a chance to work on the moves taught
in Gaye's class
8:50- 9:45 Zydeco or Swing etc. some instruction/help provided
partner recommended, but not required
Cost: $5
On weeks when there is an open waltz at Burnley Moran or Greenwood,
we will offer only Zydeco and/or swing from 7:30 to 9:45

2. Weds., Feb. 25 - International Folk Dance in C'ville
Charlottesville International Folk Dancers meets Wednesday evenings
at the Senior Center, 1180 Pepsi Place, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Join people of all ages to learn and do lively, haunting, or gentle
folk-dances from many different countries.
Teaching is from 6:30 - 7:15 p.m.,
and recreational dancing is from 7:15 - 8:30 p.m.

7. Dancers & Musicians needed for Contra Demo in Fluvanna
The Fluvanna Contra Dance has been asked to put on a demonstration at
a local community fair. Therefore, dancers are needed! Musicians are
needed! If you would like to be a part of this great opportunity to
show others what contra dance is all about please contact
danceinfluvanna at gmail.com. The fair will be held on April 18 at the
Fluvanna County Middle School, which is right next to where the
regular dance is held at Carysbrook Gym. Please reply by March 15 if
you would like to participate. With a large number of local folk
visiting this fair it will be a wonderful opportunity to get the word
out about our dance. Come support the Fluvanna Dance!

8. New Dance Weekend in Morgantown, WV
Spring is right around the corner. We invite you to come dance with us in
the hills of WV.
On June 5,6 and 7 we will be hosting our first June Moon Dance Weekend just
5 miles
outside of Morgantown, WV. We have 13 acres of land (mostly hills) with
some bottom landfill
for people to camp under the moon and stars.
Last year we built a 1900 square ft pavilion - a dance and concert
pavilion.
We welcome dancers and musicians to come and enjoy this weekend with us and
break in this
dance pavilion properly. We are keeping the cost low during these economic
times.
With the low registration fee we ask people to sign up for 1 hour of
volunteering to help make coffee,
help with prepare meals, after meal clean up, etc.
If you aren't interest in camping we have several motel /hotels in the area
as we are a college town.
a.. $40.00 and sign up to volunteer for two 30 min. jobs
b.. $55.00 if you don't want to volunteer
c.. Callers will be Beth Molaro and Ron Buchanan
d.. Bands will be Contrarians and Rachel Eddy and The Rock Farmer
