Richmond Swing/Waltz Instruction Survey To Waltzers and prospective Swing Dancers We had our final Waltz instruction last night but we hope to continue the series in the spring. Would like you input/suggestions on a few items so that we can best meet your needs: 1.. Would you prefer the alternating instruction/workshop format (five instructional and five workshops, total ten weeks), or an instructional only format (five weeks)? No difference in cost. 2.. Will you attend the spring waltz series? 3.. Would you be interested in a similar instructional series for intermediate Swing Dance instructed by Catherine Farmer? Catherine is an experienced and fun Swing Dance instructor and I guarantee that you would enjoy the class. 4.. Any other comments on how we can improve? Since we did not reach our break even attendance on this last series, we will need commitments in advance of the next series. Please respond by reply email to SSIGMON1@aol.com. I will bring your feedback to the Colonial Dance board on November 10. =================================================================== 9. Sunday, Nov. 23 - 214 Community Center Concert in C'ville Things are really cranking up for the 214 - PVCC roots music show Sunday, November 23, 3:00-5:30, at PVCC's Dickinson theater. Attached is a detailed announcement. As a fan of roots music and a supporter of 214 Community Arts Center, I urge you to attend and bring family and friends. When we did a similar show at 214 last spring, we all flipped out, saying we just have to do this again. It's a family show: 20-minute sets by the Wednesday Night Regulars (bluegrass), MIRA (Renaissance a cappella), C-TUNES (old-time Appalachian), Acme Swing Mfg Co with UVa Swing Club dancers (retro swing), Uncle Henry's Favorites (old-time Appalachian), and the Blue Ridge Irish Music School (music & dance). C-FOOT (the Charlottesville Friends of Old-Time Music) is a partner in 214 Community Arts Center along with Mostly Bluegrass, Acoustic Muse, the Charlottesville Tune School, Swingomatic, the Classical Guitar Society, and the Blue Ridge Irish Music School. While 214 hasn't yet found a new home, we're still alive and kicking. This concert, in partnership with PVCC and the Virginia Discovery Museum, is important to our future as a community organization. Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for kids and seniors (like me). They're available in advance from Plan 9, Sidetracks, and the PVCC Box Office (434-961-5376) and at the door starting at 1:00. Let's turn out in droves and have a rollicking Sunday afternoon together. Mary beth Revak ==================================================== 6.
