About Night Watch
At the forefront of the new generation of dance bands, Night Watch
performs for contra and English country dances throughout the U.S.,
seamlessly meshing their northern and southern musical roots. On
fiddle, Naomi Morse finds sounds both fiery and flowing, and her
rhythmic Vermont style sparks with French Canadian and southern old-
time influences. Charlottesville's Owen Morrison, now hailing from
Nashville, brings a wide variety of musical character to the sound,
contributing facile improvisatory lead guitar and mandolin. Elvie
Miller a New Hampshire native, grounds the band with groovy piano
accompaniment and accordion breaks that leave dancers screaming for
more. Night Watch has been playing together for over ten years, and
has been touring professionally for the last five. They have a great
performance planned for Tuesday night of instrumental music and songs
that will not be heard at the dances.
