Charlottesville International Folk Dancers will have their weekly dance on
Tuesday evenings from 6 - 8:30 p.m.  This will be held at the Senior Center
(1180 Pepsi Place). Join people of all ages for teaching and recreational
dancing from cultures all over the world.

3. Friday, Oct. 12 - English Country Dance in Ivy

Charlottesville's English Country dance group holds its
next dance on Friday, March 9 at St. Paul's Episcopal
Church in Ivy beginning at 8:00.

Music by Nick Kuhn (cello and guitar), Beth Kuhn (fiddle and recorder),
                Leslie Crowell (recorder), and Howard Markham (piano and
concertina)

The church is located on Owensville Road in
Ivy, about 100 yards up the hill from Duner's restaurant on

6. Saturday, Oct. 13 - Contra in Floyd

The Bubbatones, well-known and loved from the Friday Night Jamboree,
play some of the New River Valley's finest old-time music,
with Kathleen O'Connell, an accomplished Blacksburg fiddler, leading
the melody line for the dance tunes. John Hollandsworth provides rhythm
guitar
for the band, Kathie Hollandsworth rocks on bass, and Russ Boyd lends some
very fine banjo spunk. The caller, Adina Gordon, is a fine Asheville
talent;
so expect an exceptional repertoire of dances.

All dances are taught, singles or couples welcome,
and there's no experience necessary to join in the fun.

The dance starts at 8 PM with newcomer instruction at 7:35.
Come as you are, wear soft flexible shoes for dancing, and the caller will
teach each dance.

Winter Sun, 302 South Locust St. , downtown Floyd.
Come to dance or come to listen - no partner needed.

Admission is $7.00.
