1. Weds., July 5 - Renaissance Dance at MAC in C'ville

Renaissance Dance, 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, 7PM, Charlottesville
Municipal Arts Center.  No admission, but donations to cover the cost of the
hall appreciated.  Primarily English Country Dance of the early seventeenth
century and Italian dance of the late 16th.  No experience required,

(mandolin),
                             Jim Scott (guitar) & Two Gun Terry (guitarron)
    The caller:   Bill Wellington

    Dance is every 1st, & 3rd Fri, 8-11 PM.
    Beginners' workshop at 7:30. $7 admission ($4 after 9:30, youths 12 -18
    $4 & under 12 free).

Please bring clean, soft-soled shoes.

Join Steve Shuring to participate in a music workshop on "How to be a good
dance band" and then demonstrate your mastery of the material by playing for
a contra dance that evening! Even if you can't make it to the workshop, join
the band at 7:45 pm ready to play.

What to bring:
· Instruments (come early to tune up)
· Music stands (if appropriate)
· Music (fake books)
· Water bottle
· Pencil and Notebook


Note: This is not a jam session. Rather, it is an attempt to make a cohesive
unit out of people who want to play for dances. Come ready to work and play!
