Renaissance Dance, 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, 7PM, Charlottesville
Municipal Arts Center.  No admission, but donations to cover the cost of the
hall appreciated.  Primarily English Country Dance of the early seventeenth
century and Italian dance of the late 16th.  No experience required,

3. Fall Irish Set Dance Workshops

To Irish Set Dancers:  Set dance workshops this fall at Westminster House

This is just a heads-up message to keep you dancers informed of probable
Irish set dance workshops this fall.  As things firm up, I'll send another
message later this summer.

The Blue Ridge Irish Music School (BRIMS) has been fortunate to acquire a
lease for 214 Rugby Road, former home of the venerable Prism Coffeehouse.
The building is owned by Westminster Presbyterian Church and is now known as
Westminster House.  The BRIMS Board of Directors, BRIMS volunteers, and
other members of the local music community have been working on our vision
for the space to present a rich variety of community-oriented events, not
solely Irish music and dance.  We have also been outfitting the now-empty
rooms and, along with the Westminster Presbyterian Church, are investigating
improvements to the floor.

BRIMS is considering sponsoring a monthly Irish set dance workshop series
this fall on the third Wednesday evening of each month, Sep. through Dec.,
similar to the set dance workshops I've been conducting for the past few
years. Those dates are Sep. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15, Dec. 20 from 7-9 pm.  We
are also considering charging $20 in advance for dancers signing up for all
4 workshops. The price at the door would be $7 for dancers, $5 for BRIMS
