Juniors should invite their first-year little sisters to sit with them
during Convocation in reserved seating on the right hand side of the
auditorium. First years (and sophomores) should wear black/dark bottoms
and a white top and juniors should also wear black and white (a
tradition started two years ago by the junior class!!) Seniors will wear
their academic robes for the first time.

Please arrive early so you are in your seats by 2:50 p.m. If you are not
coming with your big/little sister, please come anyway and sit in the
seating designated for the Classes of 2009 and 2011!!! Be a part of the
tradition of honoring our Founders!

Founders’ Day Convocation will take place at 3:00 p.m. with the
presentation of the Distinguished Alumna Award to Gay Hart Gaines, Class
of 1959, for her work in the fields of education and historic
preservation. Keynote speaker for Convocation will be Prudence Bushnell,
former Ambassador to Kenya and Guatemala and current CEO of Sage
Associates.

Following the Convocation, a bagpiper will lead the procession up to
Monument Hill for the ceremony of the presentation of the memorial
flowers at Daisy’s grave. Seniors will be escorted by sophomores to the
monument, and juniors by their first-year little sisters. Please wear
comfortable walking shoes. Seniors/ sophomores will place white daisies
and Juniors/first years will place pink daisies.
In the event of rain, the placing of the memorial flowers will take
place in the Memorial Chapel.

We hope that the Classes of 2009 and 2011 will participate in this
important and important and meaningful occasion. See you at 2:50 p.m. in
Babcock on Friday, September 21!
