Dear colleagues,
Many of you are currently enrolled, have participated, or may be
registering for Business Management 131, the management course that
centers around real-world management experience through participation in
service learning projects such as Oxfam and Habitat for Humanity. I
have the opportunity on October 31 to make a presentation to the Sweet
Briar Business Advisory Council on service learning and the business
management course. However, the presentation will not be complete nor
compelling without your input about the service learning experience.
Would you be willing to take 5 minutes now while it is on your mind to
reply to this email with a memorable quote about your Oxfam experience
or comments about why you want to take part in the Habitat project in
the spring? All replies to me are confidential, so please feel free to
be frank in your responses. Please comment on any aspects of the
service learning experience that you thought were outstanding and/or
provided you with important practical experience for the working world.
If there were aspects of the experience that you found unhelpful or wish
we would change, I'd appreciate hearing about that as well. Many thanks
in advance for your time in reading this email and responding. Warm
regards, Chap
