[CC] PIDM as ID

I've modified my own record in TEST to show the effect of the change. If
you'd like to see what difference it makes, go to
http://gandhi.noc.sbc.edu:7171 <http://gandhi.noc.sbc.edu:7171/> and look
up my record. The SSN should still show up on the Biographical tab and
through an Alternate ID search, but not through an ID search and would not
display on the main part of most forms.
Indhu is going to clone PPRD from PROD tonight and I will set up PPRD for a
larger scale test tomorrow.
Of course, not everyone has SSN as an ID as it is. Ken Huus was expecting
the current ID (SPRIDEN_CHANGE_IND is null) for all records to be the PIDM.
I will set that up in PPRD, but that goes well beyond eliminating SSN as an
ID. (We don't know the SSN for all early alumnae, corporations don't have
SSNs, etc.).
If we are able to make the PIDM the current ID (as part of an overnight
process), then Ken Huus wondered if it was possible to eliminate IDs of the
form @nnnnnnnn.
That should be possible as part of an overnight process. It is not clear
that it can be done at the time a PIDM is created since they point to
different sequences and are created at different times (particularly those
that start out as RIDMs). If both of those can be addressed another
question that came to mind would be whether we need two IDs based on PIDM or
whether one would do.
Several coordinating committee members are out this week, so any committee
meeting would need to be next week at the earliest.
